Hemp derived CBD extract is a concentrate that is derived from different parts of the plant, including the stalk, leaves, and flowers. Hemp oils can be extracted from the seeds (hemp seed oil) or from different parts of the plant, including the stalk, leaves, and flowers (full-spectrum hemp extract).

Hemp extract is pressed from the leaves, flowers, stems, and stalks of the hemp plant and contains cannabinoids, such as Cannabidiol (CBD) and other helpful compounds. Hemp seed oil, on the other hand, is pressed only from the seeds of the plant. Hemp seed oil has been on the market for decades as a food and dietary supplement and is sometimes used in beauty and personal care products. Hemp seed oil does not have the same properties and benefits as hemp extract oil.

Vital ReLeaf uses hemp extract oil, not hemp seed oil.

“Full-spectrum” means that the full range of compounds have been maintained within that product or plant. Another term used to explain this is “whole plant medicine,” where the entire plant is used to promote a wide range of therapeutic benefits. This allows the different compounds in the hemp plant, including CBD, to work together to create the positive effects commonly associated with hemp extract products.

The full-spectrum hemp extract we offer at Vital ReLeaf builds off the previous definition of full-spectrum. Our Full Spectrum hemp extract products are made using full-spectrum hemp extract oil, so they still contain all of the compounds that work together to promote the potential health and wellness benefits. When full-spectrum hemp extract oil is used, it gives us something known as the “entourage effect.”

Cannabidiol (CBD) is naturally non-intoxicating. You may feel calmer when taking it as CBD’s effects are more relaxing versus a high feeling. Not only will CBD not get you high, but it actually counteracts the high effects of THC, which is the compound notorious for getting people high.
